Fort Lauderdale

[OVERVIEW]

Ft. Lauderdale is centrally located and a lot different than Miami Beach in many ways. It’s not as “crazy” as Miami but if you want the best of both worlds, then staying here could be amazing since you’re only about forty minutes from Miami Beach. I love the very serene energy in conjunction with a great level of sophistication. Of course if you go during Spring Break, well... it won’t be as quiet but still a lot of fun. It’s funny to see people make asses out of themselves sometimes.  Of course I will direct you to the W hotel, what a surprise! But this one happens to be super fun. I love the beaches here and they’re not crazy packed. This city has lots of bars and nightlife and also great restaurants along the beach. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

This place is just all about sun and fun without too much craziness. It is also very cool if you’re gay. The clubs are amazing and this city is very gay so you don’t have to worry about people making stupid comments. You will definitely feel free and safe. And if you’re not gay, you will still have an amazing time.

[ACCOMMODATIONS]

Part of me has felt that if you stay at one place over and over again all around the world then you aren't really experiencing what an area has to offer. I know people that stay at the same resort chain all over the place and I never understood why because you're traveling without really experiencing the culture. But staying at the W all over the world has helped me understand a little. It isn't a resort so of course I am still exploring but with the W I know that I am going to be treated amazing, the service is incomparable and it will always be a stylish and trendy place. Overall the W is affordable and each location has something different, like a bar or a club or rooftop, so in no way is it the same hotel every time. A familiar, yet unique experience is probably the best way to put it. This one has an amazing restaurant, a lounge and a nightclub. It's like a resort and very close to the strip.

[RESTAURANTS]

• Casablanca - Especially if you want to take a break from the sun and go have a great lunch.

• Steak 954 at The W Hotel

• Market 17

• Pelican Landing

• Blue Moon

• Serafina Waterfront Bistro

[SIGHTSEEING]

If you like to walk, you will see it a lot on Las Olas Boulevard and also along the beach along A1A. But you can also check out:

• Bonnet House

• Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

• NSU Art Museum

But most importantly, hang out at the beach and enjoy the view! Sometimes you see these massive boats on the horizon and everyone is super sexy. Find a game of beach volleyball also, it's a great way to meet people and make plans for the night!

[BARS]

There are lots of bars downtown and Las Olas also many classy hotspots along the beach. Or go to Wilton Manors as this area has lots of bars to choose from.

This is an amazing place to bar hop. Especially along the beach. Most of the places have open fronts and a very chill atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. You can basically window shop your place of preference. Be sure to dress to impress!

If cigars and spirits are your thing, there is a cigar lounge by the beach that has an extensive collection. Truthfully, not my cup of tea but the place looks very nice and is definitely quieter than the bars and clubs if you are looking for a relaxing evening.

[NIGHTLIFE]

Aside from the strip of bars with beautiful people and competitive specials, these are my absolute two favorite places to go!

• Culture Room

• Wilton Manors
